Picnik is a really neat, free, online photo editor. Go check it out! It's simple and easy to use with a delicious interface. It also integrates perfectly with Flickr. Hoo-rah!!
EDIT: instead of Googlenlarge, I'd recommend Greased Lightbox. It's prettier and also works with a host of other sites as well (including Flickr). cheers!
As the kabillions of new Web 2.0 sites crop up daily, the need for widespread Open ID adoption becomes a serious necessity. I am signed up for millions of sites that I just want to try out. The only site I actually use open ID for though is Zooomr. Sad, really. Actually Zooomr is ready to roll out their Mark III release!!! I can't wait. I doubt I'll need much of it but there are 250 new features! wow! Totally rad. All by that 18 yr. old genius, Kristopher Tate.
Let's see, things that I've been using lately. I found a really sweet greasemonkey script, called LookItUp. It allows you to highlight a word in your browser, and then when you press a button, it opens a half screen to look it up in Wikipedia or a Dictionary or what have you.
I've also recently installed a google images GM script too. This one makes it so that you don't have you click click click to see the final image. All you do is rollover the image and it automatically appears in the opposite corner of the screen. Totally rad there too. Googlenlarge
What else. Couple new Flickr GM scripts too. One that graphs your photo views daily and displays them in a cute little graph. Another lets you click on the # comments, and it opens a lightbox showing those comments. Less clicking and page loads. Very nice.
Does anyone know if all these GM scripts take a hit on the memory Firefox uses up?
well, well. i have been very busy lately! i wish i could say something cool: i've been finding myself in tibet or buying gadgets in tokyo, but alas no. i've been studying. or at least, i should have been studying. for instance, instead of studying for my orgo test today, i spent last night taking these super rad pictures!
aren't they cool? i'm still playing around with it. perhaps i'll have more time to experiment with exposure/shutter speed this weekend.
one day if i learn enough (and carry my non-existent tripod around to malls, i'll be able to do this!)
i dont' know if anyone is still hunting around for a photo site to put their shots up on, but this is a pretty sweet deal. go here and you'll see that you can very easily (w/o giving any money or credit card numbers) get yourself a pro zooomr account. for those of you who dont' know, it's like flickr on steroids and with this pro account you get a 4gb monthly upload limit, full resolution shots and then the usual web 2.0 goodness....that is tagging and notes and whatnot. i still love flickr but i've been dying to give zooomr a real shot and now that i have a pro account i can easily do that.
update: this is only an upgrade to pro for a year! tricky, tricky....still it's cool just to be able to give it a real run through with lots of shots.
ten days in rio and i'm back without a scratch! really, too much to say about it now what with classes starting up again so quickly, but here are my flickr photo sets with a few scattered comments here and there.
